"My first encounter with the ministry of Dr Mngqibisa in 2017 on the Sunday morning devotions on uMhlobo Wenene FM. Apart from the selection of the beautiful hymns, I remember always waiting in deep anticipation for the presenter to present the preacher, in solemn prayer hoping that it would be Dr Mngqibisa. This is of course does not to cast any shadow of doubt on the other ministers. Dr Mngqibisa, is a biblical expositor par excellence. He indeed is considered to be in the heights of John Orwell and John Knox. He deciphers the Word of God with clarity, and remains faithful to the same Word of God continuously discerning between the bone and marrow and cutting through towards you the listener and Almighty God. Psalm 33:4 reminds us of such faithfulness of the Word of The Lord, to see the Word is action through his faithful servant. Dr Mngqibisa, like Winston Churchill with the English Language, uses his mother tongue isiXhosa with precision and cultivated creativity. I dare not begin to emulate such dedication without due diligence, the man of God has indeed shown a gravitas of note with a solemn and commanding voice, as an African Theological Expositor. It is rare, often impossible these days, to find a man of God who does not tender to our feelings and emotions – a moralistic therapeutic deism kind of preacher – no sir, we are called upon by the son of the soil to listen and apply the Word of God to our lives placing and having a high view of God. We are blessed to have him, and may God grant him grace upon grace as he continues to bless us. Psalm 8"
